THE RIVER - K A Patterson and the Paradise Band, Classic Country, Americana, 90's Country

I began writing this song in May of 2013, sitting on the bank of Garner Creek at our farm in Hickman County, Tennessee. It was completed one year later. Yes, it's a creek, but one that is, at times and in places, larger than many rivers, including the nearby Piney River, that it drains into downstream a bit.

The day I made this drive through Southeast Dallas, the "winding road" filled in for the winding river (or creek). That was mostly a five-mile stretch of US-175 and the north end of Interstate 45, with a perfectly timed finale right next to the Dallas skyline.

Interestingly, the bends and turns in the highways regularly coincided with the lyrics about the winding and bending and turning in the river of our lives.

I kept the raw audio, complete with road noise, recorded by the same digital camera as the visual portion, rather than over-dubbing the studio track. It gives it an earthy and "let's just keep it real" feeling, with audio quality that's still quite good.

Here's my safety disclaimer. DO NOT attempt to do this unless you have a buddy with you, so that one person can video while the other person drives. Seriously, trying to drive and video at the same time would not be safe.

Hope you enjoy this video and all our music at www.kapattersonmusic.net.
