Why has Capcom described ‘Resident Evil Village’ as ‘open world’?

The highly anticipated game is set to be released on May 7th, and some details about the title were revealed during Capcoms Resident Evil Showcase which took place on January 21st. However, the showcase didn’t explain a peculiar change to the game’s Steam database page.
