My 37th Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino

Torino #37 is finished and ready for sale. It is a 1976 Gran Torino. It has a 302 V8 in it now but originally came with a 351W. The guy I bought it from owned it for around 20 years and replaced the engine back when he bought it. It came with factory air conditioning but he removed the compressor. It also came with dual remote sport mirrors and factory rear window defogger. It also came with the deluxe bumpers with push guards though the front bumper was replaced at one point with a new bumper without push guards.

The headliner shrunk in the rear and I cut out about 10% of it. The doors open and close beautifully and the wipers and lights work. The horn doesn't work as well as the gas gauge. The speedometer works just fine. The factory radio was replace with an am/fm cassette that looks to be from the 1980s. The glass is nice for it's age, there is a small crescent crack in the upper passenger windshield. One of the rods that hold up the trunk lid is missing, how that happens I have no idea. At any rate the trunk lid uses a prop stick to hold it up.

The wheels are vintage ET slot mags that I polished. The tires are ok but I wouldn't take them on the highway or at high speeds, fine around town. One of the rear tires has a bulge in the side wall. Most of my buyers end up buying a new set of tires when they get their torino anyway. The exhaust is single, if you desire dual flowmaster exhaust, you can add $500 to the cost and I'll install them for you.

The car has 93,000 miles on it. I don't know how many miles are on the engine. It always starts right up. I rebuilt the carb and added a choke. The engine taps and my mechanic ( he is a retired Ford dealership mechanic from the 70s) says it's likely the rocker studs which come pressed in have lifted up with age so it causes slack and tapping. He said it won't effect the running of the engine, just annoying.
