3DR Solo: Smart Drone! - 4x4 Van Chase - Desert Crossings (4K)

We will review the 3DR Solo Smart Drone following a 4x4 Sportsmobile Camper Van on a Desert Crossing. Today we will test the 3DR Solo Follow feature under wide open Nevada skies with excellent GPS and no tree branches in sight. The 3DR Solo consumer drone program has been abandoned by 3D Robotics. Long live the 3DR Solo! This is a Smart Unmanned Aircraft System (SUAS). We will be connecting to the 3DR Solo using the hefty 3DR Controller and an iPad Mini running a currently unavailable iOS app. I will forever keep an old device handy and have a functioning GoPro Hero 4 in order to keep this drone operational. The 3DR Solo will be in pursuit of a 2008 Sportsmobile Ford E-350 Powerstroke Diesel on a dusty desert road at moderate speeds. This epic 4 wheel drive campervan is the test subject on a never ending journey. Is the 3DR Solo still a worthy drone? Let's put it to the test and see how it preforms.
