"Somewhere between alien reggae-rock, hybrid-orchestral and 80s TV show themes...is 'Spaceport Cantina!' -Jamsphere Rock Radio

"It's a soundtrack to some imaginary space-movie that someone needs to make immediately!" -Melk

Between stardates 2015 and 2019, there was much activity creating music for commercials and various promotional videos.

During this period--and working with a mysterious audio production group known simply as The Syndicate--some of this material did really well, showing up in various advertisements in distant lands.

Between stardates 2015 and 2019, there was much activity creating music for commercials and various promotional videos.

During this period--and working with a mysterious audio production group known simply as The Syndicate--some of this material did really well, showing up in various advertisements in distant lands.

Other material--upon presentation--was presented with the verdict: ‘this sucks’.

That last category informs a large part of what is on this album. :)

To be clear, the head Syndicate mastermind liked a lot of what was done, but said it wasn’t right for commercial purposes, and sounded more like TV show themes. Some of this material had already found a great home in non-domestic newscasts, television thrillers and local Habitat for Humanity videos...and there was so much material that--while not being right for commercials selling sunglasses or aluminum foil--was still pretty fun to listen to.

It reminded me of a rag-tag fugitive fleet of cantina inhabitants like you’d find in Star Wars’ Mos Eisley Spaceport. Gritty, weird, mysterious characters that came from disparate parts of the galaxy, all sitting together having strange chemical concotions (drinks) and listening to strange music before breaking out into a fistfight (or worse).

80s TV shows themes, pop-rock horn sections and synthwave, alien percussion and tortured guitar strings...these are all the elements that came together to be ‘Spaceport Cantina’.
