ERDC Partners with the University of Southern Mississippi to Maximize Gulf Oyster Habitat Restoration

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Research and Development Center's Environmental Laboratory has partnered with the University of Southern Mississippi to launch a four-year study on various methods to create oyster reefs along the Mississippi Sound. The research also hopes to highlight the effects of these oyster reefs on Gulf Sturgeon, an endangered species that shares the same ecosystem. Sturgeon tagging footage taken by Blue Land Media and provided by the U.S. Navy, was collected under NMFS Scientific Collection Permit #19642.
