"Room With A View" was written by Billy Vera with the legendary bluesman Lowell Fulson. Over the years, it's become a modern blues standard, with recordings by Lou Rawls, Eric Burdon, Johnny Adams and a slew of others. Billy first recorded it with his band, the Beaters and has now realized his dream of doing it, Count Basie-style, with the big 18 piece band heard here off of Billy Vera: BIG BAND JAZZ. http://www.amazon.com/Billy-Vera-Big-...

From the artist:
"When the legendary bluesman Lowell Fulson and I sat down to write this song, he said we ought to write one called "Room Full Of Blues," in hopes the great band by that name might record it. We knocked it out in twenty minutes. Later, while eating my dinner, I was looking out my kitchen window. Across the courtyard lived a lovely actress who was just stepping out of the shower. As she walked down the hall, through her kitchen, dining room, living room, into her bedroom, without a stitch of clothes on, a light bulb went off in my head. I said to myself, "Man, I got a room with a view of the blues." I grabbed the phone and called Lowell and said, "We gotta change the title." And that's how it became "Room With A View," a modern blues standard, recorded by Lou Rawls, Eric Burdon, Johnny Adams and a slew of others." - Billy Vera
