Just over a year ago, I started this podcast to track my entrepreneurial journey. My first podcast was about restarting from nothing. A few weeks ago, I published my "one year later" update and shared how I built my remote income source to $5,000+ a month. My next goal is to create passive income sources and to prepare for going "Off the Grid." This has been a dream of mine for a while, and My wife and I have decided that this is the best time to do it.

What's interesting is how God lined up all the cards for this to happen. That's something I wasn't planning on, at all. As it turns out, even the bad things that have happened over the past few years have led up to us taking this path. That said, you should never underestimate how often opportunity will come cloaked as an apparent "failure." Likewise, temptation often comes disguised as opportunity. Especially the temptation to deviate from the path you're meant to be on.

This is yet another reminder that while failure is the best teacher, it can also be a useful guide. Many times in my life, I've been led "astray" by failure, only to find out that I'd been on the wrong path and needed to be forced off of it. So, while I certainly don't think we should make excuses when our plans fall apart, we should also remember that planning must be combined with the willingness to risk, to fail, to learn, and to find our true path to happiness.
