Dr. Otto Koppen from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology created and designed the Helio Courier the famous Controllable Short Take Off and Landing airplane in 1949. Dr. Koppen made a presentation at JAARS in the 1980s discussing his design and reasons why he designed it the way he did.
