Good afternoon, I’m still reporting on the future.
I need a break. 5 years of pushing as hard as I could to support the rebuilding of a freedom-loving America has worn me thin. So let’s forget about that for just 10 minutes and pretend it’s all over. Trump or his worthy successor has retaken the reins and now let’s see what the future will look like then.
Well, Toyota has announced that it has successfully tested a flying car for the first time and plans to market it within two years – that’s model year 2023.
A subsidiary of Toyota, Sky drive Inc., said the vehicle was tested at the Toyota test field, one of the largest in Japan, and home to the Toyota’s research and development group. It was the 1st demonstration for a flying car in Japanese history.
The car, named the SD-03, took off and circled the field for about 4 minutes under the manual control of a skilled test pilot. According to CEO, Tomohiro Fukuzawa:
“we are extremely excited to have achieved Japan's first-ever manned flight of a flying car in the two years since we founded SkyDrive ....
“We want to realize a society where flying cars are an accessible and convenient means of transportation in the skies, and people are able to experience a safe, secure, and comfortable new way of life.”
The SD-03 is the world’s smallest electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle (VTOL) and takes up the space of about two parked cars, according to the company. It has eight motors to ensure “safety in emergency situations.”
“We wanted this vehicle to be futuristic, charismatic and desirable for all future customers, while fully incorporating the high technology of SkyDrive.”
The company will now test their flying car under a variety of different conditions to make sure the safety and technology of the vehicle meets industry standards.
No price has been announced.
This is the first time a big-name auto company has gotten behind a VTOL vehicle. This is a very important development in VTOL history because safety has always been the primary concern for this type of technology and Toyota has one of the best safety records of any auto manufacturer.
Here is a little company video I’ve cut down for brevity.

I'm still reporting from just outside the citadel of American freedom, good day.
