What is fear? - How to stop fear and insecurity

What is fear – that is the question! For years, I lived in constant fear, thinking fear is an emotional problem, but it turns out, I was wrong!

Jesus teaches us in the Bible that we humans have four different dimensions: our mind, our soul, our heart, and our body. If we are to overcome a problem, we must address it at the correct level, and so the question is: what is fear?

For many years I believed that fear is an emotion. I learned that our emotions are a response to our thoughts, so I kept trying to change my thoughts, but it never worked. I didn’t realize I was missing essential information, so I ended up giving into my fears and letting my brain make the decisions for me.

By April 2019, I couldn’t leave my apartment, I couldn’t talk to anyone, and I was on the brink of divorce. I had all my dimensions mixed up and I was addressing my problems at the incorrect levels.

But once I started (out of sheer desperation) learning what to do from the Bible, and doing it, Jesus set me free, as He promises us in John 8:31-36. I was in bondage to fear, and I didn’t even realize the impact it was having on my life. But by God’s Grace, and by His Promises to us – when we do what He says, we get closer to Him. We get healthy, we get set free, and we get to be like Jesus – exactly the Way God intended!
