I needed a lightweight, handy, and reliable carbine that had the capability of attaching a light and delivering enough energy to stop a wolf, grizzly bear, or tweeker, that was also reliable and accurate. Spied the new Henry Big Boy X at the local gun shop and it seems to be the perfect solution. I previously built a Marlin 1894 that was too heavy and unreliable, then built an AR-15 in .450 Bushmaster that was also too heavy and bulky. The Henry is the perfect porridge for defense in the woods.
