Ep. 42 - Essential Work and Nancy Fraser's Feminist Socialism

Two articles, one from Vice and one from a blog/website called Jezebel. Need I say more? The first article focuses on an interview of self-proclaimed feminist socialist, Nancy Fraser, in which she describes the failures of capitalism to assign appropriate value to “care work”. In her words, we need a complete socialist feminist makeover of the economy in order to re-prioritize our conceptions of essential work. The second article carries Nancy’s ideas forward and asks the question, ‘if certain work is non-essential, why do them at all?’

PS: We forgot to press recording on the video until 15 minutes in. Therefore, forgive us the abrupt introduction
