La Raza means "The People" meaning the Chicanos or Mexican Americans.

In the song, Frost references the Spanish Fly track, "Soy 18 With A Bullet" from the Trust No Man album.

Kid Frost would later drop the "Kid" from his name and just go by "Frost". He collaborated with many other chicano rappers, including SPM and Latino Velvet.

"La Raza" was one of the first tracks from a chicano to make it to the radio. It was the first to track that included Calo (Chicano slang).
