Encounter with an Old Warrior

I've been watching this mature buck for a couple of years through trail cam pics and finally had an encounter with him this past November. He has a nasty wound on his right chest which affects how his rack grows each year. In 2019 his left side grew straight out to the left and only had two points. This year he had a lot of mass but short tines...and you can see that his left side is still stunted. You can see the wound if you look close when he bolts away from my stand. I passed on this encounter and never saw him again...I was waiting for a bigger buck that unfortunately never crossed my path.
