Trust In the Lord to Provide What You Need
(Judges 7:1-8 NKJV)

I. God Knows Just What You Need. (James 4:6)
• As we look at our text, we see that in v.2 God tells Gideon about the number of people that he has for the battle that they are about to face.
• God makes it a point to specifically tell him the reason for why He is adjusting the number of people for this battle.
• Listen to what James writes. See God knows that sometimes when things get done in our lives, sometimes we take credit for what is being done. See by the numbers that they had, if they went down there and happened to defeat the enemy they would not have given God praise/recognition.
• As believers it is important that we remember that God is the one that is making a way when there seems to be no way. We have to remember to give God His praise.
• God also knows the hearts of the people. And in v.3 He gives Gideon criteria for how and who to qualify the people.

II. God Shows Why You Have To Be Watchful!
• God tells Gideon that the ones that go down on all fours and get their water, they are not the ones that you are to use.
• See you have to be on watch. If you are not truly paying attention, then you can be swayed by anything. You will never see when problems are arising.
• You don’t want to be caught off guard! One of the biggest problems happening in the church today, and also in the lives of believers is that we are not being properly prepared.
• But we see that God gives Gideon a description of the individual that he is to look for. In v.6 we learn that the ones that fit the description was only 300!
• Listen to (1Peter 3:15-17). See what God is wanting is, people that are ready for the battle that is at hand. This comes when we are fully relying on God. When we are also carrying ourselves in a way that shows that God is in control of our lives.

III. With God All Things Are Possible (Mark 10:27)
• We see that God has now gotten the number that will work.
• But more than that is that He has the right people with the right attitude to do the work.
• We look to a monumental moment in Christ ministry. In (Matthew 19:16-26) Jesus has His encounter with the Rich Young Ruler. He addresses the fact that the heart of the man was not in the right place.
• He also addresses the fact that act Salvation is something that God can do not man! We have to understand that our hearts have to be in the right place!

IV. You Can Trust Him To See You Through (Rev. 3:20)
