I nearly t-boned a semi trailer! Be careful in bad weather! At 1-41

Today, Dec. 29th 2020. On my way home from work during a bad snowstorm. 2003 3/4 ton Ram 4x4. I fully admit I was driving about 10 mph faster than I should have been for the given conditions. So I should not have had to take evasive maneuvers. I also do firmly believe that the truck driver had to have seen me, though. I think he misjudged my position and speed.

In the part where start to react, I have my brakes locked up and I'm headed right for the trailer. Then I let off the brakes, push it into 4wd, and get into the gas so I can control the truck to some degree. If I had kept the brakes locked up I would have easily run straight into the trailer wheels.

So I hope this is a lesson to watch your speed in bad weather and also to stay calm and react correctly when you get into a bad spot. Thanks for watching!
