I am a teacher who lives on the free will offerings of the people I serve. And I am all in favor of believers helping those who are in need (Acts 2:44, 45; 4:32, 33).

In fact a portion of everything I receive is used to feed the homeless in America & educate poor kids in Africa. I am also in favor of churches that receive more money than they need to share the wealth with those in need. But I also know that Scripture teaches that those who preach the gospel should be honored with pay (1 Corinthians 9:14; 1 Tim. 5:17, 18). So we do not need to stop giving to one to give to another. God's grace can enable us to do both well.
