Surfside Flyers Kite Club on a Texas Gulf Coast Beach south of Galveston TX

I visited the Texas Gulf Cost over the weekend on a business trip and took the time to do some extra drone flying in various scenic locations between Freeport and Galveston. This is just one of the videos that I'll be posting soon and there was so much more scenic views that I now plan to return later to capture on video.

This video was made along the Bluewater Highway, just south of Galveston, after I spotted some huge, gigantic kites flying from a beach along side of the causeway bridge.

I found my way out onto the beach and met some wonderful, friendly folks flying their kites. They were members of the Surfside Flyers Kite Club (See them on Facebook). These weren't your cheap Walmart of Dollar Tree type of kites. I didn't ask how much they cost, but I'm guessing that these kites weren't anywhere near that bottom scale of cheap pricing. Some of them were so huge, that they required a vehicle to anchor their guidelines. Some of the smaller ones (size is relative here) were anchored with big stakes and weights in the sand.

I do take requests from folks that want to see different types of aerial photography / videos from areas they might not be able to access from the ground. I am a certified Part 107 commercial drone pilot. Flight plans were filed prior to all flights.

I flew the DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone, recording in 4K / 30fps. The other camera was the DJI Osmo Action Camera, also recording in 4K / 30fps. Video Editing software was Wondershare Filmora X.
