Mario Kart 8 Online VS. Races (Recorded on 6/2/14)

I got sick right before Mario Kart 8 was released so I wasn't able to play the game on its release day or even for the next two days. I only got around to playing the game yesterday once I started feeling better.Show more

After I completed all the cups in 50cc I went online and tried some worldwide races for the first time. I'm including my very first race (Jaye was able to join me for that one), but these races are basically my best ones from yesterday. I'm still getting used to the physics and all the intricacies of the game, so I'm having some trouble getting that pole position.

So far I'm liking the ATV better than the other vehicles, but I miss the tight handling of the old Mach Bike. Nothing has matched that so far, and I don't like the new Mach Bike.

I raced with various groups, but it wasn't entirely my choice. I got communication errors several times in the lobbies and Keet just couldn't seem to join any of my games for that reason. It also kept happening to Jaye. Nintendo definitely needs to fix that.

I've included footage of the lobby before the first race to show the new voting system, but after that I edited those sections out.

N64 Yoshi Valley (Fourth Race) - 10:20

Recorded with the Hauppauge HD PVR and the Wii's component cables in native 720p resolution. I'm using a Wii Wheel.
