How to know what's emotionally healthy - How to stop jealousy and envy
How to know what’s emotionally healthy is something I’ve wondered for years. Initially I thought everything my parents did was unhealthy, so what’s healthy must be the opposite of that – but I couldn’t have been more wrong!
Jesus teaches us in the Bible how to know what’s emotionally healthy. Essentially, once we accept Him into our lives as our Lord and Savior, we are meant to become more and more like Him. We follow His Example, and He talked a lot about emotional health. He teaches us how to treat one another, how to be married, how to deal with anxiety, depression, worry, people-pleasing, jealousy and envy. Not only that, but He promises us to deliver us from these unhealthy, damaging behaviors (what the Bible calls sin). He teaches us how to love and how to be loving – and that’s what it truly means to be Jesus-like.
