The Davidic Covenant

The Davidic Covenant was made with King David through the prophet Nathan. David is promised a son (descendant) who will reign forever on his throne. This is a prophecy of the Messiah who is to come. Also interesting about this passage is that it is an example of the Double Reference Principle of interpretation.
