Chinese Communist Party’s Tactics to Infiltrate Our Local Governments

When it comes to the Chinese Communist Party’s influence, most people think it’s all in Washington, DC. But you might be surprised to hear they’re building relationships with local city council members, county-level officials, state assemblymen and senators.

They do this in a very calculated and systematic way that most of our government officials who are visiting China won’t know the intentions behind these invitations.

My guest today is Wen Chen, PhD. She is a staff scientist at the California Institute of Technology and acting member of Amnesty International, focusing on human rights in China.

We also welcome back former mayor of Costa Mesa Jim Righeimer. He shares his experience as an elected official visiting China and dealing with the Chinese Communist Party.
