I would like to share with you a souvenir in this video. Firstly, this is a heart shaped and rectangular wooden box from south Morocco.
These boxes are 20 years old. My intimate friend gave them to me when she returned from her trip and before I immigrated to Canada. She told me this present is a souvenir from Essaouira which is a small city in Morocco.
Secondly, these boxes are made of wood from a tree called Thuya which is known as the tree of life.. It is brown in color, smooth, silky texture, and a great decorative and perfect for keeping jewelry. In addition, these boxes were handcrafted by a woodworker. The handcrafted touch of artistic skill creates variations in color, size and design. If you want to buy two there would be slight differences. Each box is unique. Also, it gives an aromatic odor that will last a lifetime.
Above all, this box has a very special meaning to me because it represents love and friendship. Furthermore, it is a souvenir that reminds me of my friend and it is a cultural object from my country.
In conclusion, I wanted to share this heart shaped box with all of you because we need to realize that a souvenir can change our feelings and life for the better. When you give a present to your family or friends even if it is cheap or small, it may mean a lot to them. I think you now understand why this splendid and gorgeous object has special meaning to me. In this box many fantastic and fabulous memories from the past live again.
