The Roanoke Star (aka the Mill Mountain Star) sits on Mill Mountain and overlooks the surrounding Roanoke area valley and Blue Ridge Mountains.
It's the largest, free-standing, man-made, illuminated star in the world. The Roanoke Star is one of the most photographed attractions in the area and the scenic overlook at the base offers incredible views of the region. This video was filmed during the day, but the star is illuminated every night and looks real cool. So I'll make another video soon of the star illuminated.
