Back Pain During RDL

I am looking forward to sharing more videos like this with you guys. Quick tutorials on how to do and exercise and common errors that can lead to injury.

In this video I am demonstrating how tight hamstrings can result in A poor movement in the Romanian Deadlift exercise.

When doing the RDL’s you are told to go as deep as you can stretching the hamstrings. If your hamstrings do not have the range of motion needed for the exercise your body will look for another way to achieve the depth. The easiest way for your body to get deeper is to start rounding your spine.

This is obviously improper form and will result in back soreness. You will most likely feel your lower back burning if you start doing this exercise incorrectly.

Keep your spline in neutral position and go as deep as your hamstrings will allow then finish the exercise by driving back up. You do not need to touch the dumbbells to the ground in order to achieve hamstrings and glute engagement
