Driving from Seattle to Arizona pt 3 Flying through Arizona.
Ok, I was getting tired about this time, which is why I didn’t stop and clean the windshield again, sorry. When I’m driving I couldn’t see all of these chips, or the spots. I was getting very tired of the truck though. It was a Ryder 20 Ft moving truck.
I picked it up, drove it 6 miles to load it up and started driving. I didn’t notice the issues until about 30 miles later when I got onto the freeway. Once I got it home and before loading it, I noticed that one side of the dual tires in back was very low. I thought no big deal, filled up the tires to the limit and started loading. It wasn’t until the truck was fully loaded and I was on the road at about 11:00 PM that I noticed issues. WAY too late to take it back. Note to Ryder truck rentals, this is 1 trip of 3 I’ll be making. I will let everyone know about these issues. I won’t be using Ryder truck rentals for trip 2 or 3. I always take a picture of the truck as I’m picking it up. I also took a picture of the gauge cluster, the miles and fuel level with the building included in the picture, you know,, “just in case”
it was at less than half tank when I picked it up, I didn’t notice that the leasing agent looked also and checked off “full tank”.
Dropping the truck off they tried to charge me an extra $200.00 for not having a full tank. Boy was I glad for the pictures..
I complained about the huge goose egg on the front tire, and the nearly flat tire again on the back, stating that I had to fight the truck the whole way down. The leasing agent just shrugged his shoulder saying, yep that’s pretty normal. No apology, no compensation.
