The Jesuits are expelled from Portugal after having been found to have committed the crime of sodomy. We read at the bottom of this plate: 'This sword is still stained with the blood of the sodomites.' The 1761 engraving shows a winged warrior representing the government of Portugal throwing fire bolts at sodomites, namely the Jesuit priests who were promptly banished from Portugal.
