How to apologize - How to stop shame and condemnation

Apologizing is a healthy emotional skill that we can each learn, and when we apologize, we bring healing to ourselves and to the other person, and we potentially restore or even deepen our relationships. We all make mistakes sometimes - and that's ok. We're also all different, and for most of my life I couldn't figure out why I was the only person to apologize - why other people wouldn't apologize to me.

That's why discovering people apologize in different "languages" has changed my life - reading the book about this topic, "When sorry isn't enough," by Dr. Gary Chapman and Dr. Jennifer Thomas, has helped saved my marriage and has helped me develop healthy relationships (after having cut everyone off from my life, except my husband and my therapist due to my complex post-traumatic stress disorder.)

Have you ever apologized? Why or why not? And what is your apology language? :) :) :)
