Trump Breaks Silence, For First Time In Days

Rumble Donald Trump appeared to warn moves to impeach him for his role encouraging the Capitol riot could lead to more violence - as he defended his speech at a Washington DC rally as "totally appropriate".

The President broke his silence, appearing in public for the first time since the violence - and for the first time since his Twitter account was permanently suspended.

He appeared to warn Democrats that pushing to impeach him could spark more violence.

"For Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to continue on this path, I think it's causing tremendous danger to our county and it's causing tremendous anger," he said - adding: "I want no violence."

And he suggested his incendiary language ahead of the storming of the Capitol building was less problematic than people who supported unrest over the summer connected to the Black Lives Matter movement - saying "that was a real problem."
