Not all pirates were run through by swords and scabbards during deadly fights on ships, hung from yardarms, keelhauled or made to walk the plank. Some were captured, given long and tedious trials affording them every legal consideration, and then they were hung, drawn and quartered, gibbetted or put before the executioner. These are a few of such accounts from the courts of England, Scotland, Canada and the United States of America.
