House and Senate Security Allegedly Blocked Capitol Police Request to call in the National Guard

Last week, many news outlets reported that the Capitol Police rejected offers of help from the National Guard for the Jan 6th protest. Amid criticism over his handling of these events, the chief of the Capitol Police, resigned.
