Fishing for Mangrove snapper inshore

Today we took the john boat out again to fish the canals and creeks. We tried to get into Jenkins creek but the tide was way too low. We tried several hours to find where the fish were holding and on the way back home after not having any luck we fished a patch of mangroves on the way back home. We ended up catching some very nice mangroves. We used medium sized shrimp on a jig head. The water temperature was a lot higher today then our last trip out.
