My name is Mike and this is a video of a recent vacation that my wife and I took to McGee Creek State Park. The park is located in Southeastern Oklahoma in between Antlers and Atoka—you will find it nestled within the forest on the shores of the McGee Creek Reservoir. My wife and I were looking for a quiet getaway for Thanksgiving that wasn’t too far away from our home in East Texas. We found McGee Creek (which was only a little over 3 hours) and decided to give it a try. We didn’t go without doing a little bit of research first, but we were happy to find a park that was much more charming in person than the videos and pictures that we found online. My wife Christy is a little camera shy but you will see her in some of the video! LOL!

This video was originally posted on December, 1 of 2017. This was my very first YouTube video and it was not without flaw! The sound quality was terrible, especially in the first few minutes of the video! As my knowledge and experience for editing grew it became increasingly more cringe-worthy to see my first video with such poor sound quality—to the point that I just couldn’t stand it anymore! LOL! Unfortunately, my only option was to remove the video entirely, re-edit, and re-upload since YouTube no longer has a video editor where I could simply increase the volume!

Our McGee Creek State Park trip became a three part series, mostly due to my lack of experience, so you can find parts 2 and 3 on my channel and I encourage you to check those out as well!

It was filmed exclusively with a Samsung Galaxy S7 which is a wonderful cell phone but I do plan on getting some more sophisticated camera equipment and editing software for my future videos!
