There’s been a recent upsurge in corona virus cases in different parts of the world, sparking international concern. The main cause is a mutated or variant form of the virus, first identified in the UK, then spreading to other countries. At the same time, China with its economy closely connected to the U.S., (particularly via Wall Street investment) shows signs of a pandemic 2nd wave which could rattle it to the nation to the core, socially and economically—with the effect rippling across the globe. A financial crisis in China could worsen the recession already suffered by America and other countries due to the virus’s first wave.
President Trump appears to have concretely rejected the possibility of instituting martial law as an avenue to investigating the legitimacy of the election. Yet this doesn’t match with many of the signals we’ve seen from the Trump camp and its allies in what’s appeared to be preparation for a counter-offensive against forces seeking to overturn America’s constitutional elections and law.
