Chopping trees to count carbon in the Amazon

In the trees about 55 miles from Rondonia state capital Porto Velho, Brazilian researchers are seeking to learn how much carbon can be stored and sequestered in different parts of the world's largest rainforest, helping to curb emissions that foment global warming.
