Whether you believe Him to be the literal Son of God or not doesn’t really matter. His words themselves are powerful. In self-defense we see first in purpose then in application this to be true.
In self-defense LOVING your enemy or attacker vs HATING is also known to be more powerful. When a defender allows HATE to consume them they physically, mentally and emotionally “give away” or waste energy.

Muscles tense, strategies and defensive techniques go out the window and blind furry steps in. The literal loss of energy is a disadvantage. Therefore HATE weakens us. While being at peace through LOVE relaxes muscles, clams breathing and literally makes us faster, focused and more powerful.
