Michael Jordan Rookie Year Highlights

The 1984 NBA draft was held at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York on June 19, 1984. With the 3rd pick, the Chicago Bulls took a young man named Michael Jeffrey Jordan from North Carolina that would forever change the face of the franchise. Jordan's first contract paid him less than a million dollars a year for his first few years of NBA service. That 3rd draft pick would soon captivate millions with not only his high flying dunks, and tenacious energy, but his poise and charisma off the court.

Michael Jordan quickly became the most electrifying player in the NBA. His rookie year accomplishments include leading the Bulls in scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals while setting the Bulls franchise record in points scored in a single season.

Air Jordan's numbers for the 84-85 season were: 28.2 ppg, 6.5 RPG, 5.9 APG, and 2.39 SPG. He topped off his year by being crowned the NBA Rookie of the Year.
