It is a common group of Agapostemon race bees in the Western Hemisphere, green or blue in general, head and always, and sometimes abdomen in some females there are about 45 species in the genus, Canada from Canada to Argentina. They superficially resemble the various members of the Augochlorini tribe, whose members of this genus are commonly called the brilliant green bee.
