This Taurus TX22 went to the range, as is, straight from the box. I did disassemble it first, and I noticed it was oiled from the factory, so I just put it back together as it was.
There were 4 or 5 malfunctions all day. A couple fail to feeds and a couple fails to fire. Looking at the strikes, I'm pretty sure the fails to fire were ammo related.
The first 10 mags were with Federal 'Black Pack' 36 grain hollow points. These were a Black Friday special at about 2.5 cents per round for a case of 5000.
I also tested Aquila Standard and High velocity rounds, Remington Golden Bullets and Federal crimped snake shot. Only the snake shot failed to extract (as expected), the rest ran flawlessly.
If your on the fence about buying this firearm, just do it. It has the weight of a BB gun and delivers very tight groups and seems to eat whatever you want to feed it.
I'll probably cut some snips out of this video to make a more impressive, and much shorter version, showing how great this pistol is.
