Once Saved Always Saved Refuted with Scripture
The OSAS Doctrine refuted with Scripture.
Matthew 22:14 "For many are called, but few are chosen." Verse taken from the Parable of the Wedding Feast. Like the Parable of the 10 Virgins and Parable of the Talents, all give warnings to be ready for the coming of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 24:13 "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
John 15:2 “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”
Acts 5:32 "And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him."
Holy Ghost is our seal for eternal life, and only given to those that obey God.
Acts 14:22 “Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.” Quite clear
Romans 1:18 "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;"
Romans 11:21-22 "21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off"
"IF" is the keyword of Conditions, IF we do not continue in his goodness, we will be cut off.
Romans 2:7-8 "7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,”
Conditions that we are to continue patiently in well doing seeking glory and honor and imortatality, eternal life. Conditions that if we choose to not obey truth but choose to obey unrightousness, there is indignation and God's wrath abides on us.
Romans 3:25 “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”
We are saved from our past sins according to Romans 3:25
but nothing on future sins.
2 Corinthians 13:5 “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”
Are we in the faith truly? We are called to examine ourselves that we are in the faith. Context is always important on all verses.
Hebrews 3:12-14 "12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;"
"Warning to those saved to take heed that we not depart from God. We are to Exhort:
intransitive verb To urge by strong, often stirring argument, admonition, advice, or appeal.
intransitive verb To make an urgent appeal.
n. The act of exhorting; an exhortation.
"IF" is the keyword for Conditions that if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end, then we will be made partakers of Christ."
Hebrews 5:9 "And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;"
Eternal salvation comes to those who obey him. Those who disobey, well…
Hebrews 6:4-6 "4 For [it is] impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put [him] to an open shame."
"IF" keyword to show Conditions.
Hebrews 10:38 "Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him."
Galatians 5:24 "And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts."
In the churches we don't see a lot of this happening. Everyone wants to hold onto their sins.
Galatians 6:9:7-9 "7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
"IF" keyword to show Conditions that if we faint not, we shall reap. If we sow to the flesh then reap corruption, but if we sow to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
