20210109 America and Democracy - The Daily Summation

I'm tempted to start this description with, "I don't know who needs to hear this but..." That said, I'll refrain.Show more

The truth is though, the United States of America is not a democracy (nor has it ever been). Rather, we're a representative republic.

I wanted to make sure people understand something else as well. There are circumstances under which I believe rioting and violence can be said to be called for. The current moment does not appear to be such a circumstance.

Further, I support peaceful protest, even when I find the ideas being expressed therein repugnant
