Perspective is not the curvature

I still don’t understand why the educational establishment still teaches this optical illusion as proof of a spherical surface. I took this footage few miles away from the coast of California and supposedly it takes 69 miles for one degree of spherical declination based on the measurements of the Earth of a 25,000 mile circumference!
