[Blender] Original Music Video!

Animated with Blender 2.8 and Eevee. Original music recorded in Ableton. The painting in the background is Mediterranean Landscape by Picasso.

This was my first attempt at using mocap in Blender 2.8 which I started learning at the end of last year. Let me tell you, mocap is not for the faint of heart. I'm not sure if I'll do anymore animation like this as it's so incredibly time consuming. Although, I do have a vision for the "Moon Band" but will need some kind of financial support to be able to bring that about.

Using Eevee really cut down on render times, but the depth of field issues with Eevee made it pretty complicated to pull this off. To achieve the DOF effect I ended up using a defocus node in the compositor which meant everything had to be rendered multiple times. I'm frustrated with the YouTube compression algorithm which has really dropped the quality of some of the scenes. I guess in the future I'll have to render out at 4K.

Regarding the music, thanks to Josh Medley for loaning me his Fender American Elite Strat. I had to sell my electric several years ago to pay the rent so it was a real joy to play electric again. If you'd like to help me get an electric guitar, click on the patron link above.
