Long-Tailed Macaque

Long-tailed or crab-eating macaques (Macaca fascicularis) are found in Southeast Asia from Burma to the Philippines and southward through Indochina, Malaysia, and Indonesia. They are found as far east as the Timor Islands. All Monkeys have tails and that is part of what makes them different from humans and Apes. These tails are used for balance which is why they are so long. They also use their tails to allow them to leap vertically and to hang upside down from branches.
