Becoming a drummer made me a better Entrepreneur.
You know the little things you do will have the biggest and most long term effects. I learned this from a great teacher and brother, Josh Tolley. How many of you want to get rid of bad habits? How many want good habits? I’ve read several books that say something to this effect “do this habit for 21, 30, 60, 90 days and it will become a habit that you stick to”. Then they show you a list of studies that show the results to this statement. The only problem with this is, our school system has trained us to believe that we must get the answer right the first time. So in our “knower” when we “try” to have good habits and fail a couple times, we give up. As a drummer I knew I needed to do rudiments to become a good drummer. I didn’t think “I’m going to do them 21, 30, 60, or 90 days and then I will have a great habit of doing rudiments to become a good drummer” I practiced my rudiments A LOT! The practice is what made me a good drummer. When we change the little things in our thinking, it gives us the proper alignment in our mind to achieve the objective. When we fail at something or didn’t get it just right, we need to understand we’re practicing. Keep at it! I mentioned Josh Tolley earlier, one book you need to have in your library (because Entrepreneurs have big libraries and small tvs) is “Evangelpreneur” I have it linked below. Get it. Devour it. Pass it on!
