Members of the 113th Wing Medical Group administered the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to DC National Guard members at the DC Armory Jan. 5. The FDA authorized the emergency use of the vaccine to prevent COVID-19 in individuals 18 years of age and older under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine which is available under pre-licensure status is voluntary for service members, though highly encouraged for priority populations. Members of the DC National Guard are preparing for the 59th Presidential Inauguration.
