TransAmerica Trail, Tennessee & Mississippi Part 1

Two women ride the Tennessee and Mississippi sections of the TransAmerica trail- Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and into Arkansas.
We started with a rental truck from Enterprise, loaded our bikes and headed for Maryville Tn. We spent the first night in a motel there and started the next day by riding the Tail of the Dragon and entered the TAT near Robbinsville, NC.
The journey was epic. We encountered thunderstorms and torrential downpours. It rained nearly every day. We found what equipment worked well and what equipment did not. We became accustomed to being wet. ALL THE TIME. We cherished laundry day. We learned to load the bikes fast and to keep our rain gear close by.
We had lengthy discussions about every conceivable subject via our Sena Com's. We saw unbelievably beautiful scenery that we would never have seen had we traveled on the interstate. We laughed. We made mistakes. We dropped our bikes a few times.
We nearly fell victim to many, many dogs running out at us. We nearly did not get out of the mud. We faced exhaustion and misery.
We spent nine days total, two days traveling and seven days on the trail. We camped three nights and stayed in motels the rest. We ate out more than we cooked.
We had the BEST TIME EVER and we can't wait to get back on the Trail!
