Knossos on Crete

Let's visit the archaeological site of Knossos, about 5 km from Heraklion. Crete is considered the birthplace of the Minoan civilization, the earliest civilization in Europe. Knossos on Crete is probably the largest ancient city of that time. Besides Malia and Phaistos, the palace of Knossos is the largest Minoan palace on Crete.
