On the night of December 22, 2020, prior to 6pm, witnesses told authorities they saw a vehicle leave the roadway that Tuesday night and entered the Cumberland River near Riverside Drive and W. Washington Street, just north of the RJ Corman Bridge. No one was seen exiting the vehicle.

According to the police department, officers along with Clarksville Fire Rescue, Montgomery County Rescue Squad and Montgomery County EMS were at the scene for search efforts that were suspended from that night due to conditions.

After search efforts continued the vehicle was found and on Sunday, December 27, 2020, a gray Nissan sedan with one occupant, who is deceased were recovered from the river.

Jasonah Crawford, 18, was the body recovered.
